Dropbox CDN Plugin For WordPress TO Reduce Blog Bandwidth

We at TTG are a fan of Dropbox and have covered some awesome useful topics- WordPress Database Backup to Dropbox Account , Remotely shutting Windows XP From Mobile Phone Using Dropbox and Run Multiple Instances of Dropbox in Windows 7. Recently i came across a new WordPress Plugin which lets you use Dropbox as CDN for your WordPress blog.

With Dropbox CDN you can upload your theme’s CSS, JavaScript, and images into your Dropbox ‘Public’ folder which reduces the bandwidth of your server and hence makes your site loads faster.

Install the plugin from here and then activate it after uploading it.You will have to create a folder within the ‘Public’ folder with a unique name like your domain name eg. yourwebsite.com and then upload all of the .js, .jpg, .gif, .png, and .css files from your theme into this theme folder.

One of the main advantage of using this plugin is for the bloggers who use a paid CDN network like Amazon S3 to store media files.

However, there is a disadvantage as many organizations block dropbox which means that any file on your blog which has Dropbox URL will be blocked automatically.

If you want to reduce the bandwidth of your website then you should give Dropbox CDN a try!
