A Short Glimpse On The Google Chrome Operating System

After successful launching of Google Chrome Browser which become popular in entire world  Google has decided to launch a new Operating System in the market. The Google Chrome Browser is used by about 35 million people. Now Google has announced about the project of  Google chrome Operating System on 7/7/09.

Why the name is Google Chrome Operating System?

According to the Google official blog it is an extension of Google chrome. Google Chrome was designed by Google for fast web service, email checking, news, contacting with friend in the web especially for those who live in the web. So they preferred to give that name.

A small overlook

All the  applications was developed first by Microsoft when the web service was not available. So then it was impossible to design them appropriately for the web service. So Google has decided to design their OS well connected with web

Google Chrome operating System will be an open source, lightweight operating system that can be useful for netbook. In the last of this year they are going to open-source the code and the OS, compatible with the netbook will available at the market in the middle of 2010.

Google is  so familiar about the speed, simplicity which are the key aspects of the Google Chrome OS. They are designing the OS to be fast and lightweight and fast to start up so that people can get in to the web in just some moment. They are trying to start from basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that  user don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. The OS will run on  both x86 as well as ARM chips and they are working on multiple OEM to bring a number of netbooks to the market.

The software Architecture of The Os

The Google Chrome Operating System will be a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. The application developer will get the web as the platform. All the web based application will run automatically and new application can be written using the web technologies. The application will run also on any standards-based browser on windows, Mac and Linux environments. It is designing to power computer from netbook to full-size desktop computer.
