Ever since the launch of Facebook, it has been attracting its existing and new users with its new advanced features. One of the coolest features on Facebook is the Facebook Badges. Badges make it easy for the user to show off his/her profile, as well as the latest status updates and other information on any other website or blog. Actually, badges are short links to your Facebook profile.

So, what will a Facebook profile badge do and why create it and have it on your site?
A Facebook profile badge contains your personal information as updated on your Facebook profile. However, you can put additional information like phone number, e-mail address, websites, hometown, upcoming events for visitors to see. Remember, these are the information which would be added on badge which would be accessed on some other website.
Basically, Facebook badges are of four types – Profile Badge, Photo Badge, Link Badge, Page Badge.
The user can select a badge of his/her choice and get started.
Creating a Facebook Profile Badge
Select the Profile Badge option on the Facebook Badge page.

Under the profile badges, you get to choose the layout which can either be vertical, horizontal or column wise. You can do this by clicking on the ‘edit this badge’ link. Choosing layout depends on the page size available on the user website to attach the badge.

The items like the profile pic, name, networks, hometown, email, birthday, mobile number can be selected which would appear on your website for visitors access. Clicking the ‘save’ button gives a code which is to be pasted on the website for the profile badge. (If you are a Google plus user then also create your Google+ Profile widegt.)
Creating a Facebook Like Badge
Select the Like Badge option on the Facebook Badge Page.

Under the like badge, select a page of your choice which would appear on the badge, which could be posted on your website. After selecting a fan page, you get a code to be pasted on your website. The preview of the like badge is also seen on the right side of the page.
Creating a Facebook Photo Badge
Select the Photo Badge option on the Facebook Badge Page.

Under the photo badge, you can choose vertical or horizontal layout or also a two column badge. You can also choose the number of pictures to be displayed on the badge. Increasing the number of photos increases the size of the badge. The preview of the badge is seen on the right side of the page. Clicking the ‘save’ button gives a code which is to be pasted on the website for the profile badge.
Creating a Facebook Page Badge
Select the Page Badge option on the Facebook Badge Page.
Under the page badge, you can select the orientation of the badge and the preview of the badge is seen on the right side of the page.

Also, the items of the page like name, status, pictures and fans can be checked. The same would reflect on the page badge placed on the website. Clicking the ‘save’ button gives a code which is to be pasted on the website for the profile badge.
