How to Integrate Pinterest Into Facebook Fan Page

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of Pinterest; I bet you’re probably already a member. Pinterest refers to itself as a “virtual pinboard” because you can use it to pin images that you find online, and organize them into boards.

Since Pinterest has become so popular and is also a great way to increase traffic to your website, it’s no surprise that it’s now integrated into many online services. Today we’re going to show you how to integrate your pins from Pinterest into your own Facebook fan page, via a tool called Pinvolve.

What is Pinvolve?

Pinvolve makes it extremely easy for your Facebook fans to repin images that you’ve pinned, as well as pin images from your Facebook fan page. Pinvolve adds a new tab to your fan page. In this tab you’ll have two sections: a Pinterest tab showing your personal pins and a Facebook tab showing your fan page posts with images.

When you hover over each item, there will be a “Pin It” button and a share button (for sharing on Facebook). This is great for because if you’re pinning items from your own blog or website, it can help to increase traffic to those sites.

Likewise, giving your fans the opportunity to pin and share your fan page posts will help increase traffic to your fan page, and help to increase your page’s “likes.”

So without further ado, here’s how to set up your Pin It button on your Facebook fan page.

Installation and Setup

1. Navigate to the Pinvolve app on Facebook.

2. Click on the “Add to my page” button in red to get started.

3. Choose the Facebook fan page(s) that you would like to add Pinvolve to. You can select more than one if you want. It probably won’t hurt to add it to all the pages that you administer, since this will be a great traffic booster.

Then click on “Add Page Tab” to go to the next step.

4. Enter your Pinterest username and email address. You can enable Instagram pinning (as a third section in the Pinvolve tab), but only if you upgrade to a premium account.

Click on the “Save” button and you’re done.

5. If you chose to add Pinvolve to more than one of your pages, you’ll have to go to each one and enter your username and email address. This is in case you may have a different Pinterest account associated with each page that you manage (great for those managing more than one business or brand).

6. To do this, just go to your fan page and select the Pinvolve tab. If this is your first time, you’ll be directed to the settings page right away. Then you can enter your username and email address for that page; if you only have one account then you can just enter the same one on all of your fan pages.

7. Once you’re done, this is what you’ll see on the Pinvolve tab.

As you can see, it’s much like a mini version of your Pinterest profile, with the addition of the Facebook tab (and Instagram if you upgrade).

You can also access the settings from here and your fans will be able to follow you on Pinterest and tweet about your page’s new “pin it” feature.

Now Your Page is Pinnable

Now that your fans can pin and repin your content, you’ll want to let them know about it. Obviously, they can’t check out your pins or share your fan page images on Pinterest if they don’t know that the feature is available.
