Some time the data in your USB pen drive may be insecure and you should safeguard the data from the evil person. One of the best and productive way is to encrypt and password protect the USB pen drive. USB Safeguard is free, portable and light-weight utility which takes all the care about the security of the data in the USB pen drive.
Using USB Safeguard is very easy and simple. Just place the usbsafeguard.exe file to your USB drive.
Now to password protect any file and folder of the drive, just run that application by clicking on it. You will be prompted for entering password in a stylish window.
After providing the password and confirming that, you will get the interface where you can encrypt any file or folder of the pen drive by drag and drop method. You can encrypt the files one by one or all the files at a time. Dropping the files or folders will ask you to select the encryption label.
Select any one of the options that you prefer and remove your USB drive.
When you want to access your encrypted files from any computer, insert the pen drive in the USB port. IF you open the drive from the Windows explorer, you won’t find the files or folders that you have encrypted. So run the application again and it will ask you to put the password.
USB Safeguard comes with an onscreen keyboard to protect you from the keylogger or such hacking tools. You can put your password by clicking the onscreen keys from that keyboard.
After putting your password, you will get your encrypted files in a different window. Select the file(s) and click on Decrypt.
