Read Mails Offline From Gmail Inbox

If you need to read mails from your email account inbox any time for office or business purpose then you must prepare your email inbox in advance. Google is always familiar about the user demand and tries to offer some useful service. So why they included the offline feature in Gmail account. By default this feature is disabled. But if you want to read the mails from your inbox in offline mode then you can enable it. Gmail allows you to download the attachments also in the offline mode. How to enable the offline mode in your Gmail account

1.At first sign into the Gmail account and go to “Settings” from the right corner of the top and select the “Offline” tab. You should view the following.

2. Select “Enable Offline Mail for this computer” option. You can specify which attachments should be downloaded for offline reading. You can also create a desktop shortcut, run in start-up creating the start menu item clicking on “Create a desktop shortcut”.

3. After selecting the settings you need to click on “Save Changes”.

4. Now Click on the “Next” button to install the offline mode in your computer.

5. After this, you may need to change the permission to use Gears in your browser.

You can change the permission from the tool menu of your Firefox browser. Select Tools > Gears settings and remove the url “http://mail.google.com” from the list of denied sites. Restart your browser. After restarting you have to repeat the steps 1 to 4.

6. In this step check the box “I trust this site. Allow it to use Gears.” and click on “Allow”.

Now it will take a little time to finish the offline installation.

Gmail will start to synchronize the mails from your inbox including the attachments.Wait for a while and start reading mails from your Gmail inbox offline.
